Standardized Solution to Be Rolled Out Across 13 Locations Nationwide, Integrates Video and Access Control and Brings Down Total Cost of Ownership
Falls Church, Va.--Kastle Systems has been chosen to provide the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) with an enterprise-wide security solution to include integrated access control and video monitoring. The deal, initially worth over $10 million, is designed to secure all SEC buildings including the Washington, DC headquarters and 12 regional offices. This contract has a base period with 3 option periods spanning over 10 years.
The solution, Kastle Secure for Government, combines advanced video monitoring and access control technologies, and is designed specifically for government agencies, adhering to both HSPD-12 and FIPS-201 and complying with FISMA.
“Kastle Secure for Government is a perfect fit for agencies like the SEC”, states Brad Osborne, Public Sector Director for Kastle Systems. “Our turn-key approach means that the system can be quickly and easily launched in multiple locations. In addition, by using cloud technology, the system can be deployed in a much more cost-effective manner.”
A vital portion of the Kastle Secure for Government offering is the tight integration of video monitoring and access control. By fusing the best of both technologies, Kastle is able to accurately and swiftly detect and respond to incidents such as ‘tailgating’ (illegal following of an authorized person through an access control point), door tampering, and use of panic buttons. In these types of situations, the video source is automatically displayed in response to access control signals, enabling quick verification and resolution of the incident.
The initiative began with the two organizations working to carefully define the technology needed to address the SEC’s security requirements. Kastle and the SEC are collaborating to standardize security processes across all 13 offices. Finally, as Osborne adds, “With our extensive experience in serving over 50 distinct government agencies, Kastle is able to provide the SEC with best practices for response protocols and event management as well.”
